Trump Riles up Mob to Attack US Capital on January 6, 2021

Gullibility in the GOP

Gullibility of the voter base and power abuse is still the mantra of the Republican Party. Unfortunately they are giving Republicanism a bad name.

noun : a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

Trump entered the White House with 38 convictions on his record for fraud, tax evasion and other crimes. Donald also lost hundreds of lawsuits. And don’t forget, Trump, as sole proprietor of his company, is responsible for his crimes.

But because he is a very successful liar, his followers believed Donald instead of facts. Trump relies on people that are less intelligent. In fact after he won the election in 2015, he even stated: “We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated.” Donald loves the poorly educated because he knows he can take advantage of them more easily. The irony is many actually like that he likes how easy it is to fool them.

Trump is an expert at manipulating language and people. It’s actually what he is best at.

The continued push of the big election lie from Trump, and many in the GOP, is risking a slow burning continuance of the coup. Donald actually started this before he was elected. I did several pieces pointing our these risks in 2015 and even pointing out how it was a coup because he was clearly using active FBI agents and retired FBI personnel like Jim Kallstrom in his campaign efforts.

LIE: The rioters were completely unarmed

FACTS: People who illegally entered Capitol grounds during the insurrection were armed with a wide variety of weapons, including guns, stun guns, knives, batons, baseball bats, axes and chemical sprays. The Department of Justice said in an official update last week that so far “over 75” people charged in connection to the attack “have been charged with entering a restricted area with a dangerous or deadly weapon.”

LIE: The rioters were protesting a ‘rigged’ election against Trump

FACTS: The courts and the recounts have revealed no level of fraud that was able to overturn the election. However, it is important to recognize that there was a major fraud that did occur when Trump hired Louis DeJoy in order to destroy the high speed mailing systems across America. In the case examinations of ‘actual’ voter fraud, although examinations continue, there are indications most of the fraud was committed by Republicans.

LIE: The rioters were invited into the Capitol by police

FACTS: 140 police officers were assaulted while trying to stop the mob from breaching the Capitol. There were hours-long battles between police and rioters near some entrances. Police body-worn cameras show how dozens of officers engaged in hand-to-hand combat with rioters in a desperate effort to keep them out of the building.

[Note: There are indications Trump tried/did influence the National Guard response and it is possible some in the capital police were sympathetic to the lies spread by Trump and those supporting election lies.]

LIE: The jailed rioters are nonviolent political prisoners

FACTS: Most of the 700-plus people charged in the Capitol riot to date were released shortly after their arrests. Only a few dozen were ordered by judges to remain in jail before trial, and most of those defendants were charged with attacking police or conspiring with far-right militia groups.

LIE: January 6 was a false flag attack

FACTS: Trump called upon his followers to come to Washington DC on January 6th. He did that obviously because that was the day VP Pence would certify the electoral votes. On that day he told his followers “we’re going to walk down to the Capitol”, followed by “Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.”

Then Trump dog whistles by saying “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” Trump riles up the crowd into a frenzy and sends them to the Capital and then goes back to the White House (because he lied to his followers about walking down to the Capitol with them).

When Trump said the word ‘peaceful’ that was obviously a ‘dog whistle’ for his own protection. He said that so he could later say he used the word “peaceful”. That way he can say he never supported any violence. But we know form Donalds history, that this is a typical tactic. It’s a sophisticated lie specifically designed to give him his wiggle room so he can weasel himself out of any responsibility. He’s done this all his life evident in his myriad fraud cases via misleading statements and lies. We’ve all seen his typical double speak: ‘rapists, and some ore good people’; ‘good people on both sides’, et cetera.

Even though Trump called them too DC, Trump riled them up and told them: “We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,”. Trump goes on to say: “Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore and that’s what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with: We will stop the steal.” This is a directive to his followers to go to the capital and “Stop the steal”.

So, Donald called them to DC, riled them up, covered his own ass, told them they have to “fight like hell”, to stop the steal.

Anyone with even a few brain cells can see what Trump did here.

And just as you can lead a horse to water and can’t make him drink, some of Donalds followers will remain gullible and ignore facts and reason. But let us not fool ourselves. Trump did this. He did it because his goal, with the ‘Green Bay Sweep’ was to steal the election.

This is seditious, treasonous, and absolutely anti-American.

Let’s Reiterate

Think about this: Trump supporters, after Donald called them to DC, Donald told them to go to the capital and fight like hell, later later suggesting it might have been ANTIFA, or someone else that committed the violence. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE.

The videos of the insurrectionists committing the coup action on behalf of Trump posted their intentions before they went to the Capital. Continued posting while they were at the capital. Posted after the Jan. 6 attack on the capital and and our government. In court case after courts case they stated they went to DC because Trump called them there to do exactly what they did. Trump was happy with his followers chanting bull**** during his speech before he sent them to the capital.

The truth is, we all need to call BS on Donald Trump and the sedition insurrectionists and the continued slow burn of the GOP’s attempt to erode the power of the vote guaranteed to Americans in the Constitution of the United States.

Trumps presidency was rife with bad, rude, criminal, unethical, and unconstitutional behavior by himself and those in his administration. Many of his people ended up in jail, but he gave out a basketful of pardons prior to leaving office.
